What we collect

The submission form collects your name, email address, show title, short hook, and acknowledgments. You can also choose to share your role, background, more about the show, supporting links, and up to three documents, such as a script, pitch deck, or series bible. We also record the time of submission and limited campaign information, when available. A short-lived, hashed network identifier helps prevent abuse; we do not store your raw IP address in the pitch record.

Why we use it

Stable Studios uses this information to evaluate your project, keep internal review notes, and contact you about potential next steps. Submitting a pitch does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Where it goes

Pitch records are stored in a Neon-hosted Postgres database, and the website runs on Vercel. Uploaded documents are stored privately in Vercel Blob, and access to pitch records and document downloads is restricted to authorized Stable Studios reviewers. If you share a supporting link, its files remain with the hosting service you choose and its access settings still apply. Do not include passwords or sensitive personal information in your pitch.

Website measurement

PostHog measures visits to registered public pages and whether the pitch form was started, its steps were completed, or a submission succeeded. It uses a random identifier held only in the current page's memory, without PostHog cookies or persistent browser storage. We do not enable automatic interaction capture, session recordings, or person profiles. Preview activity is labeled separately from production activity.

These events do not include your name, email, story, uploaded file names, submission reference, or review activity. Page addresses exclude query strings and fragments; referring addresses are reduced to their website origins. PostHog is disabled for private review pages and browsers that signal Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Like other online services, PostHog receives the network connection needed to deliver an event.

On the public production site, Google Analytics may receive cookieless measurements of page visits and whether the pitch form was started, its steps were completed, or a submission succeeded. This configuration does not create Google Analytics cookies or enable advertising personalization. It does not send your name, email, story, uploaded file names, submission reference, or review activity to Google. Page addresses exclude query strings and fragments, and referring addresses are reduced to their website origins. Google measurement is disabled for private review pages and browsers that signal Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Separate first-party campaign information may be stored with your submission to help us understand how people find the studio.

Ownership and expectations

You retain ownership of the material you submit. Submission allows our team to review the material for a potential collaboration; it does not transfer ownership, create a confidentiality agreement, or guarantee a purchase or production commitment. Our team reviews pitches and emails an update, which may request a meeting or more information. There is no fixed response timetable. Only submit material you own or have permission to share.

Keeping and removing your submission

We keep submissions while evaluating potential development opportunities and maintaining our review records. An upload session that is not submitted expires after 24 hours. Abandoned uploads are removed when cleanup runs during later upload activity, so removal may happen after that expiry. You can ask to correct or delete your submission by emailing eli@variance.vc from the address used to submit it. Include your submission reference if you have it. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
